Most guests fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN) and then travel about an hour south to Playa del Carmen. Here is what to expect, so the first few hours of your trip are the easy part.
Allow about two hours after you land
Between immigration, baggage claim and finding your transport, plan for roughly two hours after the wheels touch down before you are actually on the road. It is almost always faster than that, but building it into your plan means an early check-in never feels like a scramble.
Airport transfers
For transfers between Cancún International and Playa del Carmen, I recommend Top Klass Travel. I have used them for years: set pricing, professional drivers, and they track your flight, so a delay does not leave you stranded.
Taxis are available too, but they run on variable surge pricing, so what you pay depends heavily on the time of day and how busy the terminal is. If you would rather know the cost up front, book the transfer.
Arriving at Aldea Thai
- Check-in is at 4:00 PM at the front desk, though the condo is often ready earlier if it is free.
- The building is Aldea Thai, on Calle 28 between Calle Cozumel and Mamita’s Beach. Pull into the half-circle drive on Calle 28 for drop-off.
- At reception you will complete a short check-in form and receive a guest bracelet. Ask for one to three RFID keys for your group.
- Arriving early or leaving late? Reception will hold your luggage, so you can start your holiday rather than sit with your bags.
Once you are in Playa
Sol Vista del Mar is within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and the beach clubs — the street outside the condo entrance turns to sand within a few steps.
